  • Eyelash curler – Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
  • Black mascara – Heroine Make Long & Curl Advanced Film Mascara
  • Contour, highlight and blush palette – Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette
  • Nude Lipstick – Sephora Collection Lip Stories in 4 and 6
  • Lip Gloss – Fenty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

NOTE: Keep in mind that the products mentioned above are just recommendations, you can use whatever makeup product you prefer.

Step 1: Put on Makeup Base

Before you even begin working on your eyes, you need to make sure you prep your entire face. That way, you’ll be able to even out your skin tone before you begin adding colors.

Always start with a clean and moisturized face before you put on any makeup product. Once your face is clean and dry, you can begin to apply your base.

Tip: Apply a makeup primer for better product adherence. Or if you have large pores and wrinkles that you want to blur out some makeup primers are specifically made to target these skin issues.

Now, with your makeup sponge apply your foundation. Depending on your preference you can either go full coverage or you can sheer it out for a more natural look. Next, apply the concealer or corrector to cover up blemishes and imperfections like dark under eyes or pimple marks.

Before proceeding to the next step it’s important that you let your base settle for a couple of minutes. You can apply a setting powder, but if you prefer a more natural radiant look, you can skip this part.

Step 2: Shape and Groom Your Brows

As a rule of thumb, it’s usually best to do your brow makeup before you apply any makeup on your eyes. Your eyebrows frame your eyes, so it’ll help you decide how much eye makeup you’ll need.

On top of that, you don’t want to risk smudging your eye makeup if excess brow makeup accidentally falls on your lids. So use your go-to eyebrow kit or pencil and shape your brows the way you usually like them.

Tip: With sapphire eyes, it’s best if you choose the natural route. Neat and groomed is the way to go!

Step 3: Prime and Prep Your Lids

If you want your sapphire eyes to really pop, don’t skip the eyeshadow primer. It also prevents your eyeshadow from creasing which helps the makeup last longer. When dealing with bold and vivid colors, this step is a must.

Fingertips application will do but with the current global health crisis, it’s best to use a clean concealer brush for this step. Make sure to apply it sparingly and as close to the lash line as possible. Dip your foundation sponge on your setting powder and apply it under your eyes. This is done so the eyeshadow fallout from your eyeshadow won’t adhere under your eyes.

Once again, let it set first before proceeding to your next step.

Tip: You need only a small amount of eye primer, going overboard might actually mess up your eye makeup.

Step 4: Work on Your Cut Crease

Dip your dense shadow brush to a soft baby blue color from your palette, tap the excess to avoid fall out and pack it on your inner lids moving toward the middle crease. With the same brush choose a purple-based shade from your palette and pack it on your middle crease toward the outer V of your eyes. Grab your blending brush and dip it on a sky blue shade every so lightly and apply it on your crease, blending the colors as you buff out the edges.

Intensify the color by applying a dark navy blue shade on the outer V corner of your eyes. Start with a light hand because you can always add more if you want. Remember, with makeup, it’s easier to just add more than to sheer out the colors once you’ve applied too much.

Unify the colors of your crease by dipping a bright blue shade on your palette and blending it out on your crease.

Step 5: Add a Touch of Sparkle on Your Lids

Look for a duo-chrome white-based eyeshadow color. It doesn’t necessarily have to be on the same blue palette that you have. It could be a single eyeshadow you already have or it’s included on a different eyeshadow palette from your collection.

Now, pack it on your inner lids toward the middle part, again, start with a light hand and work your way until you reach the intensity that you want. With your blending brush blend the duo-chrome white-based eyeshadow from your lids to the outer corner. Do not blend too much because you don’t want to sheer out the color from the outer corner of your eyes. If you’ve accidentally sheered out the color, you can simply pack more of the dark navy blue shade.

Now to brighten the look, apply a bright powder blue shimmer shade in the middle of your eyelids to unify the dark navy blue and white-based duo-chrome colors.

Tip: If you aren’t sure of how much product you need on your brush, you can dab some at the back of your hand to see how pigmented your eyeshadow is. That way, you can adjust the amount of product before applying it to your eyes.

Step 6: Line Your Eyes

When your eyeshadow is in place, apply black eyeliner on your upper lashline. Now, use your favorite purple-based blue eyeliner and apply it on your waterline to incorporate the eye makeup. If you don’t own one, that’s fine because you can always use your eyeshadow to do this.

Tip: If you aren’t confident about your eyeliner skills, you can draw a series of dashes instead of one straight line. Then, connect the dashes.

Step 7: Apply Black Mascara or Falsies

Don’t forget your lashes! Start by curling your lashes for a few seconds.

Once they’re curled, apply some black mascara. You can apply mascara on your lower lashes too but this step is optional.

Or, to add more drama, put on some falsies!

Remember the loose powder you applied under your eyes? You can brush it off now to remove any fallouts from your eyeshadow or smudges from your mascara.

Step 8: Finishing Touches for Your Eye Makeup

Highlight your brow bone and the inner corner of your eyes to make your sapphire eyes pop. You can use a highlighter or a shimmer light shade from your makeup palette to do this.

Go back and clean up your eyebrows with a browcara to finish your eye makeup.

Tip: Always curl your lashes before you apply mascara. Otherwise, the mascara might cause your lashes to stick on the curler and you may accidentally remove some strands.

Step 9: Finish the Rest of Your Makeup

The rest of your makeup is really up to you, but keep in mind that the sapphire eye makeup is already bold on its own. So you can tone down the rest of your face makeup just like what the models from the S/S 2020 sported. After all, this season’s face makeup trend is all about showing your radiant glowing skin.

Apply light contour and highlight where it is needed. Add a little blush for a flushed look. Nude lips will go really well with your sapphire eyes.

Tip: The wet juicy lips look is making a come back, you might want to try it out.

If you still find the sapphire eyes too adventurous for your taste you ought to try this one:

While the bold jeweled tones of sapphire eyes can be intimidating, it’s always nice to be adventurous with your look every once in a while. What’s best about this eye color is it actually compliments most skin tones.
