If you're returning to Fallout 4 now to live out the nostalgia, finding every rare weapon might be one your goals. Moreover, they all definitely change the way you can strategically fight your enemies. Here's where to find these rare Fallout 4 weapons.

Updated June 14, 2024, by Zackary Wiggs: Fallout 4 is still here for you to dive into. With the popularity of the Fallout series and with Fallout 76 gaining more and more players, there's never a better time to hop back into the single-player adventure to the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth. But, you'll need some pretty snazzy weaponry if you want to reach the highest levels as the Sole Survivor. Luckily, Fallout 4 has quite a unique arsenal for you to choose from. You just may need to do some work to get them.

25 The Cryolator

Freeze Evildoer!

Ironically enough, this unique weapon in Fallout 4 can be found at the beginning of the game. However, players may be so focused on getting the hang of their character that they fail to explore the Overseer’s office thoroughly enough.

Return here to retrieve the weapon once you have master lockpicking skill levels. It shoots out cryo-energy much like a flamethrower throws out fire, and freezes enemies in their place. The Cryolator does 20 damage which makes it devastating early on in the game.

24 Lorenzo’s Artifact Gun

Science, Or Something Mystical?

This is a reward for a side quest you happen upon if you visit the Third Rail bar in Goodneighbor. Working for the Cabot family, you eventually discover their secret to immortality and have to end a crazed father attached to an ancient artifact to save the rest of the family.

A week in the game goes by, and the son will let you know he has a unique and rare weapon for you based on the artifact. It deals 28 damage using gamma rounds, which is a fairly good rate compared to other radiation-damage-based weapons.

23 Alien Blaster Pistol

Weapons From Another World

As with all Fallout games, aliens have to come into play at some point. After either reaching level 20 with your character or discovering Vault 75, an alien ship will crash in the Commonwealth.

Start at Oberland Station, and head northeast until you find the crashed ship. Follow a trail to find the alien and a unique Fallout 4 weapon: the Alien Blaster Pistol. It deals 63 damage but uses rare AB rounds, so use it sparingly.

22 Shishkebab

Extra Crispy

There are two ways you can gain this unique melee weapon in Fallout 4. Either you wait until a random legendary enemy drops it or you take on a mission for Abraham Finch, where you recover his family’s sword from Saugus Ironworks, after which you'll get this weapon as a reward.

Based upon the infamous Grognak comics in the Fallout universe, the weapon lies in a glass case near the entrance, but be prepared to fight a horde of feral ghouls to get to it.

19 Furious Power Fist

Get Mad

Another unique melee weapon in Fallout 4, the Furious Power Fist does a damage of 57 per hit, and is more powerful than Grognak’s axe. However, acquiring it will be tricky, as it requires going up against one of the toughest enemies around the area of Diamond City.

Exploring the Boston Commons area, you will discover a location known as Swan’s Pond. There, a behemoth super mutant named Swan will emerge, and you will have to hit him with everything you have to acquire the weapon off its body.

18 Atom’s Judgement

The Nuclear Option

A rare weapon in the Far Harbor DLC, Atom's Judgement is by far the most powerful melee weapon in Fallout 4. Investing in the Nuclear Physicist perk will increase its power thanks to the fusion cells attached to it.

The weapon deals 315 points of damage, and you can find it by completing a Children of Atom quest. However, if you decide to handle it, you must deal with a former member causing trouble named Gwenyth. Once dealt with, Grand Zealot Richter will reward you with the weapon.

17 The Harvester

You Reap What You Sow

This unique weapon comes exclusively with the Far Harbor DLC. A melee weapon, it can be found at the ghoul-infested lumber mill known as Echo Lake. It makes for a great early to mid-game weapon for melee builds.

No Problem Too Complex
