Summer Class FAQs

Do I need to pre-register for programs?
YES.
Online registration is required. We will not be accepting any walk-up or drop-in athletes at our summer classes, and we anticipate that many classes will fill up. Our only "drop in" programs are our Thursday night Open Gyms.

The class I want to sign up for is full. What should I do?
If a class if full, please
sign up for the waitlist! We anticipate that some classes will fill up fast. If we receive enough demand for a particular class, we will try to open up an additional session or court to accommodate waitlisted athletes!

How do I know which class is right for me?
Our

Summer 2023 Class Bookletincludes a NEW "Guide to our Classes" with information on what is considered Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced, as well asdetails on each of our summer class offerings. Please read these carefully and ensure you're signing up for the right class for your current level and age (all ages are based on the UPCOMING 2023-2024 school year). If you have any class placement questions, please email us atadmin@northeastvbc.com.

Do I need to be a NEVBC club player to sign up for classes?
Not at all! Classes are open to all athletes, regardless of previous club affiliation. For our Advanced classes such as Advanced Workshops, Masterclasses, and Elite Positional Training, we will ask for film (please email to
admin@northeastvbc.com), a volleyball resume, or a roster verification from a high level club team for any athletes who are new to NEVBC.

What is the level of your All Skills classes?
For our High School and Middle School All-Skills classes, the level is mixed among the courts, ranging from novice athletes to intermediate/advanced athletes who have played for their school or have club team experience. All athletes will receive training in the key skills needed for success in our sport, as well as competitive game play.

What is the level of your Advanced classes?
For our Advanced Workshops, Masterclasses, and Elite Positional Training, the expectation is that athletes played at least 2-3 years of club volleyball on a high level Club (U16+) or Open (U14+) team. These players have excellent ball control, including very consistent and precise quality contacts in passing, setting, serving and attacking. Advanced players should be able to serve to specific zones consistently, attack or hit downballs to a specific zone with control and speed, and pass in system. Players must know the rotations for a 6-2 and 5-1 team offense, as well as be able to execute team defense systems and out of system play. These players will be expected to initiate their own drills, control the ball, and keep up the speed of play in fast paced and competitive drills and game play.New athletes will be asked for film (please email to

admin@northeastvbc.com), a volleyball resume, or a roster verification from a high level club team to enter these classes.

Will you be adding more classes?
We will be adding more sessions and one-day classes as we get closer to the summer, and we often add last-minute one-off training sessions throughout the summer. Be sure to
subscribe to our emails and check our Instagram feed and stories for updates on new classes!
