NOM 1173|Yes it has additives and tastes artificial. However for the money it’s not that bad, I could think of many others that would be worse.

NOM 1173. Holy additive punch bowl. So much fake flavor. Originally it tasted good but after trying much better additive free tequila such as ArteNom 1146, it's a drain pour.

NOM 1173Some flavors of caramel and oak, but otherwise overpowered by artificial sweetness. Taste and texture seems very thin and watery, and the finish is short and sweet. That is: short, and sweet like cotton candy. Stay away.

NOM 1173|This is awful. Thick, syrupy, glycerin manipulated for mouthfeel. Sweet on the palate with a fake cinnamon presence makes this a solid disappointment. Not sure the point of contracting with Santa Lucia to produce this... well to make money for both obviously but as a spirit? No. The previous añejos though not world changers were at least decent, subjectively natural products. This is not that and in fact is more in line with the whole current bullsh*t in tequila, skirting the rules and changing what a whole generation thinks tequila even is. It IS $20 for a liter, which is cheaper than sustainability, even for Costco.

Is there anything Kirkland doesn’t do well? Loads of agave from start to finish, that’s not the norm for Anejo’s and a nice surprise. Heavy oak on the back end that reminds me of a port or dessert wine, not something to begin the evening with.

Strong up-front notes of cooked agave and celery. Black pepper, burnt sugar and bourbon finish. Strong butter on the nose. Nice juice for $20.

NOM 1472|This rating is for the old bottlings from NOM1472 in the taller square bottle. A pretty good añejo for the price of 20-22 bucks for a liter. My bourbon drinking friends like to drink this as do I for the simple fact that it has a lot of bourbon elements going on. Oak, caramel, vanilla all combine to make reminders of the barrels used to age this spirit. Not really any agave which is probably the point. Scored down for that.

NOM 1472|I'm not really sure what to do with this. It's a low-end añejo, but priced at a value. I wouldn't serve it as a sipper and I prefer blancos or certain repos for margaritas. My mom would mix it with co*ke. I could drop it in a coffee or a mocha, or infuse it with espresso. I'm just getting too much astringent/antiseptic to want this añejo to be the primary flavor in my glass.

NOM 1173|Not really an anejo, more like a great reposado. Agave is the strongest flavor. Purchased in Florida 12/2023.

The taste is good with flavor. Lack of agave for me. But dried fruit, oak, strong vanilla. Good value.

I know the Kirkland Anjeo has additives and is sweeter than better quality Anjeo(s) but it is easy drinking and a decent tequila for the price.

With all the Anejo's out there that are rated higher that have the same additives with the same basic taste structure, this one at this price is an amazing deal at under 30 bucks for a liter. If you like that type of tequila you will love this. I was impressed as I compared it to more expensive options of the same type of taste profile. There is certainly a bump in the rating for value. Negative is there is not much agave on nose or taste

NOM 1173|Loads of caramel and vanilla. Tastes like a dupe of the Casamigos Añejo. Definitely has that overly sweetness of an additive tequila but still very good for the price. Nice finish and excellent value.

NOM 1173|Aroma: Oak,caramel, water, vanilla, earth and a candy sweet amplified smell that is a wee bit too much.Taste: Oak is dominant, caramel, honey, chocolate the agave is very muted. The dry down is short in flavor and this is where I taste a cough syrupy flavor that I don’t care for.Easy to drink.A excellent drink if you like the taste and smell of “extra sweet”.
