for the order on the ballot for
the March 1 Republican Party
Primary in Rusk County.
Rusk County Republican
Party chairman Charlie Wil-
liamson drew names on Tues-
day.
There are five contested
races in Rusk County in the pri-
mary. Sheriff is the only coun-
ty-wide race that’s contested.
Contested races and order of
ballot include:
Rusk County Sheriff: Darryl
Norris and Jeff Price; Precinct 2
county commissioner: Tammy
Pepper, Roy Boyd, Wendell
Moore, John L. Moore and Ron
Yandle; Precinct 3 county com-
missioner: Greg Gibson, Joe
Carl Davis, Matt Lebeck and
Barbara Strong Russell.
For Precinct 1 constable:
Charles A. Robinson Jr. and
Sammy Nichols; Precinct 2
constable: Chuck McDonald
and Mark Dickerson.
There are four candidates in
the race for state Senate Dis-
trict 1: James K. Red Brown,
Mike Lee, David Simpson and
Bryan Hughes. For House Dis-
trict 11: Tony Sevilla and Travis
Clardy.
For U.S. House District 1:
Louie Gohmert, Simon Win-
ston and Anthony Culler.
Other Rusk County can-
didates unchallenged in the
March GOP primary include:
Fourth District Judge J.
Clay Gossett; District Attorney
Micheal E. Jimerson; County
Clerk Trudy McGill; Precinct 1
commissioner Bill Hale; Pre-
cinct 4 constable David Guy;
and Precinct 5 constable Jimmy
Skinner.
In Precinct 3, Kenneth W.
Miley was the only candidate to
file for the primary. Incumbent
Tim Barton did not file earlier
this month for re-election.
